Who should Attend?

This is a 1- day course designed to provide an overview of how purchasing operates in Queensland Local Government. It needs to be acknowledged up front that individual councils will have different procedures and processes for purchasing. This course is not designed to drill down to procedural and process level but rather to give an overview of local government purchasing and the policies and principles that would apply to most organisations.

Our Procurement Trainers

Joel Hillier Joel is Peak’s Procurement Trainer, and one of five Accredited Trainers for CIPS Australasia.For over 15 years, he has trained hundreds of professionals across multiple industries in more than 100 training sessions across Australia. Joel has experience in training procurement, finance, process improvement and organisational change, and has included delivery to PricewaterhouseCoopers, Suncorp Bank, Rio Tinto, Queensland Rail and Queensland Health. Colin Williams Colin is a highly skilled professional procurement specialist with over 30 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain on both a national and global basis. His experience extends to industries such as regional and local government, industrial sectors as well as private and public health. Colin is a highly respected procurement subject matter expert with extensive experience in procurement category management knowledge, with a specific skill to develop strategies, negotiating and closing deals that create competition and embed sustained value.

Our standard structure for this workshop is 1 full day and can be delivered in any metropolitan or regional area of Queensland. Customisation is available based on individual council requirements.
