Butch, spent more than 20 years pursuing his unique vision for the region which included developing tourism, improving telecommunications and other innovative projects to enable the community to build a thriving local economy.

This Peak Services' annual award recognises innovation by Bush Councils and pays tribute to Butch’s legacy.

Congratulations to 2024 winners Cloncurry Shire Council for their progressive initiative 'Meeting of the Mines' event that council developed as part of its strategy to diversify its economy and position itself as a leading regional hub for the mining sector.
