About Louise

With a total of 30 years’ experience within the animal industry, including 10 years in Animal Management with local government,  Louise Hainey brings an understanding of animal related issues in local government to her role as a trainer within the Peak Services team. She successfully delivers many programs including Authorised Persons, Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008, Breed Identification and many others.

With a Diploma of Veterinary Nursing, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and 30 years’ experience in canine behaviour and school based pet education, Louise is ready to assist you in moving forward.

Core Capabilities

  • Assisting in the review group in creating a new Local Law
  • Trainer - Authorised Persons and all Animal-Related programs for Local Laws officers.
  • Auditing dog attacks files and Dangerous Dog permits, ensuring full compliance with State Legislation
  • Assisted with advising officers on the Animal Management Act
  • Assisting officers with interviewing both complainant and alleged owner
  • Interviewing children involved in dog attacks – both victim and witness
  • Experience with disaster teams to cater for animals at evacuation centres

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (ongoing)
  • TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment Diploma of Veterinary Nursing
  • Instructor Dog Training & Behaviour Education Authorised Microchip Implanter (QLD, NSW, VIC)

Key Experience

  • Over the past 10 years, Louise has delivered over 2000 pet education sessions to over 91,000 students
  • Peak's Trainer in Authorised Persons and all Animal related programs including Breed ID and Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008
  • Designed, co-ordinated and ran the State Government funded Pilot program – ‘Snip and Chip’
